Miko

In 2021, Miko was discovered wandering the streets during the cold winter and was ultimately taken to a high-kill shelter. She was confined to a cramped cage that didn’t allow her to stand up or turn around comfortably, causing her to be too frightened to eat. Despite several days and months passing, no one claimed her, and she ended up on the list for euthanasia. Thankfully, Miko was rescued before it was too late.

Since then, Miko has been residing with other canines at a boarding house affiliated with our partner in Chuncheon, Korea. At first, Miko was petrified and spent the majority of her time sitting in a corner, observing other dogs and humans. When touched, she would freeze up and be too scared to do anything. However, after a year, Miko has become quite content living with her fellow canines at the boarding house and enjoys spending time with them.

Miko is a gentle, docile, and very obedient girl who gets along with dogs of all sizes and personalities. She has never been involved in a fight with other dogs and is very submissive and relaxed. While Miko is great with other dogs,  she is shy around people and requires time to open up. But once she gets to know someone, she becomes very sweet and adorable.

Miko is still learning and is a little apprehensive when it comes to going for walks or hearing loud noises, but she is making progress. At first, she was scared of car rides, grooming, and outdoor playtime, but now she is much more comfortable with them.

Ideally, her future adopter should reside in a peaceful neighborhood and have a house with a secure, fenced-in backyard. Having another friendly furry companion around would also aid in Miko’s transition to her new home. Someone who is patient and empathetic towards the unique needs and challenges of adopting a rescue dog will be great.

DHPPL, Canine Influenza, Kennel Cough, Rabies, Corona, Heartworm test, Giardia test, Flea & tick & heartworm prevention are all done.
