Get monthly updates about dogs like Kirin and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.

Kirin was one of seven dogs who was rescued from a hoarding situation in Hongsung, Korea. They were locked in a room and lived in unsanitary conditions. One day, their owner got into an accident and was hospitalized. The dogs were left alone with no food or water until a neighbor discovered them several weeks later. By that time, it was too late and five dogs were found deceased. The seven surviving dogs were sent to live at our partner boarding house.

Kirin is a very affectionate and sweet puppy who likes to give kisses and receive pets. Although she does love to be around people, she is still learning to open up and gain confidence. Fast and sudden movements still startle her. Due to her traumatizing past, Kirin does not like to be confined in small spaces or rooms, and can be quite the escape artist. She is still getting used to her leash and harness.

Her ideal adopter is with someone who has experience with dogs and has the patience and understanding to let her settle in slowly at her own pace. A home where someone is home most of the day would be best, as Kirin still feels insecure on her own. A house with a fenced in yard is required. Having another small friendly dog is a must for Kirin as she grew up with siblings and has lived with other dogs her entire life.
