**NOTE: Cola is currently in a foster home in Toronto (Whitby)

Cola was rescued in the winter of 2019 – she was one of 5 puppies who where abandoned in a cardboard box and left outside the City Hall in Paju, Korea. She lived with a foster family in Korea prior to coming to Canada to find her forever home.

Cola was adopted in 2021, but is searching for a new forever home through no fault of anyone. She and the resident female dog could not find common ground and often found themselves in altercations. Although the household underwent a lot of training, guidance, and management strategies under the guidance of professionals, it was ultimately decided it was best for Cola to find a new home where both dogs could live peacefully independent of each other.

While Cola and her canine sister did not get along, she is social and playful with other dogs at the dog park, especially males. With females, she is mostly indifferent and ignores them. She also lived with 3 cats. She got along well and played with 2 of the cats where she could be overzealous at times, but can correct her behavior with a voice command. She did not like the 3rd cat, and we do not know exactly why. For this reason, we believe Cola would do best in a home without cats, or where there is enough/a separate space for each pet to call their own.

Cola is shy around new people, but is a loyal companion who loves you to the moon and back once she has opened up her heart. She likes to follow her people around, stay close-by, and is happiest when she is included. She is an active girl who gets 2 walks a day, and loves nothing more than a hike or simply being outdoors. When she is happy, she wiggles her body and prances around.

She is housetrained and can be trusted with free roam of the home. As such, she does not like being crated or confined to small spaces. She also gets nervous around moving bikes and scooters when outside. However, she does relatively well during car rides, likely because she associates this with going to the park or on a hike, 2 of her favorite activities.

This sweet girl would thrive in a relaxed and quiet, adult only household (older teenagers who know how to approach dogs would be ok) where her people have the time to spend with and include her as she has grown accustomed to having her humans around and shows signs of separation anxiety. She will require a home in a calm and quiet neighborhood. Cola would love humans who enjoy spending time outdoors as much as she does. She would do well as the only dog in the home where she can have all the love and attention to herself, or with another friendly, male dog. A secure yard where she can play, run, and lounge around in would be ideal, but not a requirement for adoption. Experience with dogs would be beneficial.
