Yiho

Yiho was one of the 101 dogs who were rescued from the Siheung dog meat farm in Korea in May, where he was rescued as a small puppy with his siblings. After being rescued, they were moved to our partner boarding house where they lived with other dogs.

Yiho does very well with his “roommates” at the boarding house. He is friendly and social. When it comes to humans, he is a little bit shy in the beginning. But once he gets to know them, he becomes very sweet and affectionate. The boarding house manager and volunteers report that he is quiet and obedient, and listens well. He likes attention from the humans he has become familiar with.

Upon arriving in Canada, he has learned to trust his foster quickly, and is working on potty training. However, given that he is very food motivated, we know he will get there soon with the right supports.

Yiho currently lives with another foster dog, and is very playful. He always wants to engage his canine foster sister with play, but she is mostly uninterested in him, to his dismay. When she doesn’t want to play with him, Yiho finds his own entertainment by playing with toys by himself.

Indoors, Yiho is comfortable, relaxed, and quiet (he is not a barker), but he is still getting used to the outdoors and the different sights and sounds.

Yiho’s ideal adopter is one living a relaxed lifestyle in a quiet home. We would prefer him to have a house with a secure yard, as he is still young and is still learning about the outside world. His adopter should be committed to continuing his socialization with people and other dogs. Having another friendly dog in the home for Yiho to play with and mirror would be very helpful.

Vaccination Details

DHPPL, Canine Influenza, Kennel Cough, Rabies, Corona, Heartworm test, Giardia test, Flea & tick & heartworm prevention are all done.
