Update: Onesun has found a forever home in Toronto. Yay!

Onesun was rescued from a dog meat farm early this year in Korea.

For the last 3 months, all her siblings found their new forever homes and left the shelter. However, this poor baby, Onesun, is still in a boarding house waiting for her family. She is good with other dogs and plays well. She is also very sweet and affectionate with people.

The challenge, however, is that Onesun was born with abnormal kidneys. She has been treated with congenial chronic kidney disease. She must be on a special diet for the rest of her life. For example, she should avoid high salt (sodium) and protein diet. The good news is that the special dog food for dogs like Onesun can be easily obtained from a local pet store. In addition, Onesun takes medication prescribed by a vet twice a day.

Even though Onesun needs a special diet and daily medication, she does so well in everyday life. In fact, you wouldn’t even notice that she has kidney issues; like any other normal, happy and healthy dogs; she plays, eats, and sleeps very well.

We are looking for a family who has experience with dogs like Onesun or someone who is committed to give her the love and care that she requires.

In the past we have seen many dogs with kidney disease who lived well over 10 years. Although we cannot guarantee anything, dogs with kidney issues can live well for a long time if the proper care is provided.

  • She takes the following medication: Kremezin, Renamezin, Ammonium hydroxide, and Enalapril.
  • The first month of meds will be provided. However, after that the adopter must get a prescription and continue purchasing it from their vet.
  • She is not spayed because of her kidney problem as it is dangerous to put her under anesthesia.
  • The adoption fee is $280 for Onesun.

Onsun is an adorable puppy who deserves happiness. MORE ABOUT ONESUN
