Update: Marley has found a forever home in Vancouver. Yay!

NOTE: Marley is currently with a foster in Nanaimo, BC

Marley was rescued from a dog seller by a local animal rights activist in 2019 when she was a young pup. After her rescue, lived with a foster for a few months and later at our partner boarding house before coming to Canada.

She is a happy girl who is always smiling and wagging her tail and has a playful personality. Playing is among Marley’s favorite things, whether she is entertaining herself with toys or playing with other dogs. She is house trained and loves her chew toys, although she is not destructive in the home. Marley gets along with dogs of all personalities and is a great playmate. She walks well on leash (although she will pull at times when she is excited) and rides well in the car.

With people, Marley can be a bit shy at first, but warms up after a few minutes and turns into her friendly self. She does fine with both women and men, but does not like it when men wear hats. She communicates this by barking (but not aggressively). It’s one of the quirks that make Marley who she is. While she is quite independent, she can also be sensitive and tentative in some new situations that she is unsure of, which makes her nervous.

Marley is gentle, quiet, social, and obedient. She would do best with an active family who enjoys the outdoors. Marley loves to go for walks and run, although is also happy to lie on the couch after she’s had her walk and playtime. She would prefer to have a house with a secure yard for her to run around. Marley would do great as a second dog, with a friendly sibling who loves to play as much as she does.
