Heart was rescued from Cheonan shelter last December alongside his shelter mate Dudu, who has since found his forever home with a wonderful family and FKD alumni family in Toronto. The shelter was very overpopulated and overrun, and Heart was housed in a tiny cage for the majority of the day, if he was even allowed out of his cage that day. Essentially, Heart was simply “living” but had little to no quality of life in the shelter.

After being rescued, Heart was lucky enough to find a foster family. He is gentle, submissive, and very loyal to the people he calls his own. He is also quiet and shy, especially with strangers. He will allow strangers to touch and pet him, but is tense and apprehensive about it until given time to warm up.

Heart does well with other dogs as long as they are gentle and friendly. He has never had any issues with other dogs outdoors, but once met his foster grandparents’ dogs who were very energetic and bossy, which made him scared and uncomfortable.

Going for walks is one of Heart’s favourite activities. He walks well on leash and likes playing outside. When indoors, he enjoys sitting by the window and watching the world go by. He is housetrained in his current foster home.

Heart currently displays some signs of separation anxiety, so he would require a household where someone can be home for the majority of the time until he can feel secure on his own. He would do better in a quiet neighborhood where he can enjoy leisurely walks with his humans.
