Gonji

Details:

  • Status: Adopted
  • Breed: Pomeranian
  • Age: 3 years, 10 months
  • Gender: Female
  • Spay/Neuter: Yes
  • Size: Small
  • Weight: 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs)
  • Location: Korea
  • Destination: Toronto

Update: Gonji has found a forever home in Toronto. Yay!

Gonji was found wandering in an apartment complex in Paju, Korea last summer. She was sent to a local shelter and many people expressed an interest in adopting her. However, Gonji was very skittish and was scared of people.  Eventually, her name showed up on the euthanasia list. Gonji was dramatically saved just before being euthanized. Currently, she lives in a boarding house with other dogs.

Gonji is a loving girl, but she still gets easily scared especially when a stranger tries to touch her. She might scream and try to bite if a stranger suddenly picks her up.

Gonji is good with other dogs as long as they are friendly and gentle.

Gonji has a luxating patella (grade 2.5) with no sign of discomfort or pain. We were advised that no surgery was required but supplements and regular exercises could be helpful.

Her ideal adopter is someone who has patience and understanding to help her build confidence and trust. Someone who is retired or works from home and has experiences with dogs like Gonji will be great.
