Changhyun

Details:

  • Status: Adopted
  • Breed: Yorkshire terrier mix
  • Age: 8 years, 7 months
  • Gender: Male
  • Spay/Neuter: Yes
  • Size: Small
  • Weight: 7 kg (16 lbs)
  • Location: Korea
  • Destination: Toronto

Update: Changhyun has found a forever home in Toronto. Yay!

Changhyun was found roaming the streets one cold winter day in 2016, and sent to a high kill shelter. He was rescued before being euthanized. Since then, he has been living in a shelter with other dogs.

Although a small breed and with a very loving personality, he did not have any interest for adoption in Korea because he was still considered too big by Korean standards. They also did not like that he was of mixed pedigree.

Changhyun is selective when it comes to other dogs. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern in his preference of size, personality, energy level, etc. but it simply depends on his own assessment of whether he likes them or not. For this reason, he would do best as the only pet in the home.

With people, Changhyun is extremely loving, and just wants to be a lap dog. He did show signs of separation anxiety in the beginning , but has been improving and generally does quite well.

His ideal adopter is someone who has experience and knowledge of how to help him feel secure when his humans are not around. A household where someone can be home for most of the day until he can learn to be independent would be great.
